About This Spot

Imperial Pizza greets you with the kind of warm familiarity that only a longtime neighborhood staple can offer. Tucked away on South Avenue in Secane, this cozy, no-frills spot carries the comforting hum of an old-school pizzeria where time seems to slow just a bit. The air is tinged with the inviting scent of fresh-baked dough and melting cheese, mingling with the faint buzz of the grill and friendly chatter between staff and regulars.

The atmosphere is unpretentious and quietly bustling—part local gathering place, part late-night rescue for anyone craving a straightforward, honest bite. There’s a rhythm here, quick but measured; pizzas slide out of the oven with a well-loved familiarity, and cheesesteaks are prepared with a care that speaks of deep roots in classic deli traditions. The shop may be snug, and parking a bit of a puzzle, but those simple challenges become part of the ritual, a small trade for a taste that feels both genuine and satisfying.

Imperial Pizza’s menu isn’t about bells and whistles—it’s the kind of lineup that invites you to focus on what matters: the perfect balance of sauce and cheese, a crust with a little character, and hearty, flavorful fillings. Whether pulling apart slices with friends or enjoying a quiet solo meal, the experience here feels connected to the neighborhood’s pulse and history. It’s a place where affordability meets authenticity, where each order takes you back to simpler moments shared over good food and easy conversation.

For larger gatherings, Imperial embraces celebrations with open arms—birthdays, weddings, school events—adding a communal feel to their down-to-earth approach. Whether it’s pick-up or delivery, your meal arrives with the same thoughtful touch that has kept locals coming back through the years.

I ordered two no frills Cheesesteak. No S&P, mayo, ketchup or fried onions! This is ONE OF THE BEST steaks I've had in a while. Great flavor, plenty of meat, the roll has a great chew and not it wasn't overpriced! There are no fries (not a deal breaker). The place is... compact and parking can be dodgy but it was worth it just for this sandwich. I am the Portnoy of Cheesesteaks (Minus anyone knowing who I Am) so you can trust these taste buds ;-)

Different Cheesesteak #1253. $9.95 cash only. You know I love $9.95. Old School Pizza shop. I got a cheesesteak with fried onions. I saw Liscio’s boxes so I am assuming a Liscio’s roll. The meat had a very good old school grill flavor. I was watching the grillman. He spread the meat out while it cooked. All the meat got to touch the grill and it all got flavor. Decent amount of cheese. The fried onions got a little lost. $9.95 I am not going to complain. I took my cheesesteak to Shipbottom Brewing in Swarthmore. That was a great idea. I love my beer. $.25 for the parking meter. Plenty of room at the bar and a nice clean bathroom.

Just an old school pickup only pizza place. Small menu and they do one thing very well. It's the most affordable pie in town and I would argue probably the best. Unlike the larger chains, they don't fill their sauce with sugar. There's one size. It's a 16-in large if you order plain or pepperoni The pies are $11.95 and 12.95 respectively. There's other stuff to order but I don't think I've ever done so. Cans are still a dollar, apiece bottles are more. The people are kind, efficient and helpful. At a time when you can't walk out of the house often for less than $40, it's a really nice option to have.

Is it the best pizza I’ve ever had? No. But the whole experience and nostalgia is amazing. The pizza is good too! Unique…sandy bottom. Who knew Delco had a beach? The old school menu…the KI3 in their phone number…just takes me back to simpler times in life. I love cash only! They were there for my buddies and I sitting around a bonfire at 2am. And it’s always 10 minute pickup/45 minute delivery, as far as I remember. This is the epitome of Delco. It’s hard to explain if you aren’t from here. KI3-9393 is a number I will remember for my entire life.

The BEST pizza this side of New York !! All others in Delco are the minor leagues. Also price is half of the "fancy dancy" so called pizzeria. People are friendly, no BS. Thanks Imperial , please don't ever change.
